Think Zink
TheatreWorks of Northern Nevada Proudly Presents

Zink: the Myth, the Legend, the Zebra Directed by Cecil Averett TheatreWorks of Northern Nevada is presenting this imaginative, funny, and heartbreaking play about true courage in the face of unpredictable predators. It explores the relationship between Becky, a lonely girl hospitalized with leukemia, and (fabricated) herd of guardian –angel zebras on the African savannah. The zebras range from street-smart Ice Zee to grandfatherly Papa Zeke; to endearing Schlep, a furry green monkey who thinks he is actually a zebra. In Africa, Becky learns about Zink, a mythical polka dotted zebra once an outcast but actually a hero with the most courage and biggest heart. As Becky health worsens, she zaps back and forth between her real life and the zebra world until the shattering, breathtaking and uplifting climax. Playwright Bennett does a masterful job of balancing the hard realities of illness and the magic found on the zebras’ African plains. Zink will be presented January 20th, 21st , 27th,and 28th at 7 pm. Additional performances will be at 2 pm. on January 22nd and 29th. The final performance of Zink will be presented at Renown Hospital in the Mack Auditorium on January 30th at 6 pm. All other performances at the Laxalt Auditorium located in the Nelson Building 401 West 2nd Street, Reno, NV. (directly across from the Greyhound Bus Station)

For information and tickets, please contact: TheatreWorks of Northern Nevada, 775-284-0789
